Made In Lincoln Park Poster
“Made in Lincoln Park” Art Work by Bill Morrison
Award-winning comic book artist and illustrator Bill Morrison, a native of Lincoln Park, has created a new piece entitled, “Made in Lincoln Park, MI”, in honor of his hometown. Historical Society members and the Lincoln Park community will recall that Bill was awarded the “Key to the City of Lincoln Park” when a major retrospective exhibition of four decades of his work opened at the Historical Museum in October 2016.
For Lincoln Park’s centennial year in 2021, Bill offered to help the community celebrate by creating a tribute to significant cultural figures from Lincoln Park’s past. Represented in “Made in Lincoln Park” are:
Auto pioneer and a onetime Lincoln Park patrolman, PRESTON TUCKER
Television and film actor (“Space Patrol”) and a WWII Navy gunner, LYN OSBORN
Women’s ballplayer and 1950 LPHS grad, MARY MOORE
Custom car designer/builder and 1961 LPHS grad, CHUCK MILLER
Legendary proto-punk band THE MC5
Pop artist and 1963 LPHS grad, GARY GRIMSHAW
and BILL MORRISON himself, a 1977 alumnus.
Measuring 11” by 14”, the full color prints are suitable for framing and are signed by Morrison, Moore and Miller for a $50 donation – unsigned prints are available as well, for $25. Mail orders should add $5 for shipping and handling.
